About The Firm

James Turner
Mr. Turner graduated cum laude from Amherst College in Massachusetts and came to Washington DC to attend law school at American University -- widely recognized for a clinical program training courtroom advocates.  He was Senior Editor of the American University Law Review.
 
He was originally a mid-westerner, raised in Chicago’s industrial “Calumet Region” where he worked summers as a steel mill laborer after high school and on college summer vacations.
 
In Washington DC, Mr. Turner was associated with the Law Offices of Aaron Levine, gaining experience in the trial of personal injury cases and valuable training in the prosecution of major cases of medical malpractice and injuries from prescription drugs.
 
Beginning his own practice in 1983, Mr. Turner has handled significant cases involving prescription drugs, including the first case nationally of a son injured by exposed to the drug DES (diethylstilbestrol ) as well as persons injured by defective chemicals and tools.
 
Many injuries occur from motor vehicle collisions, and Mr. Turner has tried many cases to successful verdict in the DC Superior Court and Maryland Circuit Court.
 
Mr. Turner is a Member of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington DC and served on its Board of Governors for 20 years.  He is also a Member of the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. 
 
He has served as Trustee of his church.  He is married to Laura, who is a video producer. Mr. Turner and his wife Laura have two daughters.
